The Mushroom Blanket

Today I’m revisiting another old make. This is the story of how the Mushroom Blanket came about😀

I have a favourite mug by Cath Kidston called the mushroom mug,  I love the design but I especially love the colours.  In fact I love them so much that I wanted to make a blanket using them.

I used one of my favourite yarns, Stylecraft Special Dk in the colours sherbert, saffron, spice, candy floss, lipstick, parchment, cream and mocha. Whilst they were not a perfect match, they were close enough.

Next I had to decide on a pattern.  I wanted something a bit different from a granny square but that still had a country feel and that’s when I came across the ‘circle of friends’ pattern by Priscilla Hewitt.  You can find a link to the free pattern on her website http://priscillascrochet.net/freepatterns.html

After all the motifs were complete I then joined them using this tutorial http://scrappyblanket.com/2013/05/31/joining-tutorial-tight-join/

This is one of my favourite blankets to date and one of the coziest xx
